Service Description
The Basic Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundmental Course uses the U.S.C.C.A Curriculum and is for the student who is new to the carrying of a firearm for self defense. This course is intended for the student who wants to apply for their Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP). The course is eight hours of instruction combining classroom lecture and range time. A $25 deposit is required at booking. Remaining balance due in person. The course will cover the following topics: Firearm Safety Laws pertaining to concealed carry and use of a firearm in self defense Firearm options (type of firearms to carry) Firearm carry options (type of holsters) Defensive mind set Defensive shooting VS Marksmanship shooting After action (what to do after a shooting) Equipment requirements: Semi-Auto Firearm in service caliber (9 mm, 357 Sig, 40, 45 caliber) 3 magazines total recommended, two minimum required 150 rounds of ammo minimum (more is o.k.) Eye Protection Ear Protection Recommend Clothing: Comfortable clothing (Crew neck shirts, long pants, closed shoes) Baseball Style Hat (strongly recommended) (A $25 deposit is required at booking. USCCA Concealed Carry & Defensive Handgun Course Policy 1. Enrollment & Eligibility Students must be at least 21 years old to qualify for a Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP). Minors (18–20) may attend training with written parental consent but are not eligible for CHP certification. All students must be legally allowed to possess a firearm under federal and Colorado law. 2. Course Duration & Format This is an 8 hour course including range time. Instruction includes classroom learning and live-fire range qualification. Students must complete the full course to receive a certificate of completion. 3. Safety Requirements Mandatory: Eye and ear protection (included), closed-toe shoes, and appropriate clothing (crew-neck shirt, hat recommended). Firearms must remain unloaded until instructed by the instructor. Unsafe behavior, failure to follow instructions, or violation of range rules will result in dismissal without refund. 4. Equipment & Ammunition Approved handgun calibers: 9mm, .357 Sig, .40, or .45. Students must bring a minimum of 150 rounds of factory ammunition. Reloaded or hand-loaded ammo is not permitted. At least 2 magazines required (3 recommended). A quality holster that covers the trigger guard is required for concealed carry courses. 5. Payment & Cancellation A non refundable $25 is due at registration to secure your spot. Cancellations made 7+ days before class: refund or credit toward a future course. Cancellations made within 7 days: credit only (no refund). No-shows or failure to meet eligibility requirements (legal or safety) forfeit tuition. 6. Liability Waiver All participants must sign a liability waiver prior to class. By enrolling, students acknowledge the inherent risks of firearms training and release instructors, staff, and facility owners from liability. 7. Certification Certificates are awarded only upon successful completion of classroom and range requirements. Completion does not guarantee issuance of a Concealed Handgun Permit. Final approval is at the discretion of the issuing Sheriff’s Office. 8. Instructor Credentials All courses are taught by USCCA Certified Instructors. Instructors reserve the right to dismiss students for safety violations, disruptive behavior, or intoxication.
